NASSP survey of school leaders and principals

Research Report

Data-rich Online Research Report

Client: National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP)

Design and coding for a microsite to showcase the findings of a national survey, collaboratively designed by school leaders and students. This nationally-representative survey delved into the complex dynamics of leading and learning in schools across the country, exploring the perspectives of principals, assistant principals, and high school students. Key topics such as mental health support, school safety, and inclusive education were brought into focus, highlighting the collective challenges and aspirations of modern educational leadership. Built to be visually engaging and user-friendly, the microsite offers an accessible way for press, educators, policymakers, and the public to understand and engage with these crucial insights. Through interactive graphs and thoughtful design, the findings were presented in a manner that not only informed but also inspired action towards creating more supportive and effective learning environments.

#REFORMTheLockerRoom

Client: The Trevor Project

Designed by the firm Knack and developed for The Trevor Project in collaboration with PUMA, the #REFORMTheLockerRoom microsite is a testament to the power of inclusivity in sports. This initiative aims to empower LGBTQ youth both on and off the field, shedding light on the barriers they face in sports environments. The site highlights alarming statistics, such as over 1.8 million LGBTQ young people in the U.S. considering suicide annually, and emphasizes the positive mental health outcomes of inclusive sports participation. Through a blend of compelling narratives, impactful data, and a call to action, the microsite serves as a rallying cry for change, advocating for safer and more inclusive sports environments. The platform also features personal stories, like that of Collin Martin, one of the few openly gay professional soccer players, emphasizing the importance of representation and allyship in sports. As the coder and design consultant behind this impactful microsite, we ensured that the message and brand integrity were maintained while optimizing for user experience and responsiveness.

Bite-sized Marketing Cover

Book Cover & Layout

Book Cover & Layout

Client: American Library Association

In addition to writing Bite Sized Marketing, published by the American Library Association, we also designed the cover and interior.

Drawing inspiration from the name of the book as well as the idea that it is meant to be used as needed rather than read cover to cover, we illustrated rows of “bite-sized” chocolates in the style of Wayne Thiebaud. For the inside, we focused on defining a clear hierarchy within the constraints of single color printing.
